Dinner Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 package active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup whole milk, room temperature
1 large egg
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 egg yolk, beaten (for glaze)
Instructions:
Combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing basin.
Heat the butter and milk in a small saucepan over low heat until the butter is melted. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool to room temperature.
Mix in the chilled milk mixture and the egg until everything is well mixed.
Add the remaining flour one tablespoon at a time, stirring constantly, until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky.
Knead the dough for 5 minutes on a floured surface, or until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let aside for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 12 equal pieces and roll each one up. Place the rolls on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
Brush the rolls with the beaten egg yolk and let aside for another 15 minutes to rise.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
Remove the rolls from the oven and, if preferred, spread them with melted butter. Serve hot.
Have fun with your dinner rolls!
