Mom lines up Saltine crackers on tray, makes her famous Christmas ‘crack’ in no time

Ingredients:

1 package saltine crackers (enough to cover your baking tray)

2 cups chopped semi-sweet chocolate chunks

1 cup dark brown sugar

1 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Line a baking tray with tin foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

Arrange saltine crackers on the tray.

In a saucepan, melt brown sugar, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil and create a smooth sauce, then stir in vanilla extract.

Evenly pour the caramel over the crackers and bake for 5 minutes until it bubbles.

Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between.

Cool the baked crackers for a minute, then spread the melted chocolate over them.

Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate overnight.

Remove from the pan, peel off the foil, and break into pieces.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to two months.

Indulge in the delightful taste of Christmas Crack during your holiday festivities and enjoy its sweet, irresistible charm!
