Ever have one of those days where you crave something comforting yet a bit indulgent? Enter my baked bacon-wrapped tater tots! These little bites of heaven are a hit at every gathering, from family dinners to football watch parties. I started making these when I was in college, and they’ve always been a crowd-pleaser. The combination of crispy bacon and golden tater tots is just irresistible. Plus, they’re incredibly easy to make, which is perfect for someone like me who’s juggling a busy career and my love of cooking.
These baked bacon-wrapped tater tots are so versatile! They’re perfect as an appetizer for parties or even as a delightful side dish. Serve them with a fresh garden salad to balance out the richness, or with scrambled eggs and toast for an exciting spin on breakfast. If you’re hosting a get-together, provide a variety of dipping sauces like ranch, spicy ketchup, or even a cheesy nacho dip to keep everyone happy.
Baked Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots
Servings: 24 tater tots

Ingredients
24 frozen tater tots
12 slices of bacon, cut in half
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
Toothpicks
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and chili powder.
Take a tater tot and wrap it with a half slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
Roll the bacon-wrapped tater tot in the brown sugar mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
Place the wrapped tot on the prepared wire rack. Repeat with remaining tater tots and bacon.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the tater tots are golden.
Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Variations & Tips
Want to kick up the flavor even more? Try adding a small piece of sharp cheddar cheese inside the tater tot before wrapping it in bacon. For a spicy twist, sprinkle some cayenne pepper along with the brown sugar and chili powder mix. If you’re looking to make it a bit healthier, you can use turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. And if you’re hosting a party with vegetarians, consider using a plant-based bacon alternative to make sure everyone can enjoy this delicious treat.
